Contemplative Prayer WorkshopShare

Presented by Tom Uhler & Steve Wilkes of Contemplative Outreach of Fort Worth
Desiring to journey deeper into the spiritual life?
Not very good at saying your prayers? Come explore with us prayer 'too deep for words' (Romans 8:26). Sitting in stillness is a rare gift in our fast-paced lives. Yet many are rediscovering this ancient path of spiritual transformation. You are invited to be still and know God through Centering Prayer, a method of silent prayer and meditation rooted in the Christian tradition.
This one-day workshop is designed to teach you the method of Centering Prayer and to encourage you in developing a daily practice. As we alternate between lectures and periods of prayer, you will discover what contemplative prayer is, learn about its history, and be gently guided in its practice.
The four Sundays following the workshop, additional meetings will be offered during the education hour for those who wish to continue their exploration of contemplative prayer. Pre-registration required. Cost is $20/person Childcare: is free for UCC members! Please bring your own brown bag lunch for you (and your kids). Sign-in and childcare drop-off will is at 8:45am. For more information, contact Brandon Cline.
