Congregational Leadership

Like all congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), University Christian Church is independent and self-supporting, governed by its own members. Governance is exercised through the following Leadership Groups:

The Assembly

The Assembly is composed of Assembly Elders, Deacons, Ministry Division Leaders, Stewards, and Student Delegates, has general authority to set policies for the congregation. One of its more specific responsibilities is approval of the annual operating budget.

The Board of Stewards

The Board of Stewards manages the business and affairs of the congregation.

Administrative Committees

Administrative Committees are selected by the Board of Stewards and act as extensions of the Board in managing the congregation’s business in the areas of building and grounds, communications, endowment, finance and personnel.

The Committee on Leadership and Governance (CLG)

The Committee on Leadership and Governance (CLG) identifies and nominates members for positions of leadership within the congregation and monitors the effectiveness of church governance.
