Weekday School Director AnnouncementShare
Since September 11, 1967, University Christian Church Weekday School has served as an important ministry created to forge a partnership of growth and development for children, parents and staff. Its mission is to create life-long learners through a developmentally appropriate learning environment that meet the needs of children on an individual basis and promotes curiosity and exploration today and into the future.
Over the past months the search committee comprised of Carol Elliott, Alan Garcia, Elizabeth Jones, Keith Miller, and Alice Phillips, has prayerfully undertaken the charge of finding the next leader for this important ministry. We are pleased to announce that the committee unanimously has chosen Rebecca Santi. Rebecca will begin reporting in her new role on Thursday, July 27th.
Born in Houston, Texas, raised in St. Louis, Missouri and having graduated high school in San Antonio, Texas, Rebecca first came to Fort Worth to attend TCU, where she met her husband. After briefly moving away, they decided to come back to Fort Worth and call it home.
Rebecca is a graduate of Texas Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in English as a Second Language Instruction and the University of Texas at Arlington with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She has spent the past twelve years working as a teacher, instructional coach and school administrator in public elementary schools.
Rebecca is passionate about serving children and their families, and creating partnerships with teachers and parents to ensure children are reaching their fullest potential and receiving an excellent early childhood experience.
Rebecca has been married to her husband, Andrew, for twelve years and is the mother to two children, Nora (5) and Reed (2). She enjoys spending time with friends and family, college football, trying new restaurants, running, and all things TCU.
The committee would also like to express our deepest gratitude to Kera Watts for serving as an advisor to us during this process and for her dedicated, caring and thoughtful leadership to UCC Weekday School throughout this transition time. We look forward to welcoming Rebecca to UCC and introducing her to parents, staff, and the congregation.
