Roots Mentoring Program
The Roots Mentoring Program sprouted in 2013 when a few high-schoolers approached the ministry staff with the idea to create a mentoring program for incoming 6th graders. The transition into 6th grade is an exciting chance to meet new people and to become a part of a new community, but it can also be overwhelming with so many new faces and activities.
Each 6th grader who chooses to participate will be paired with a high school youth who can “show them the ropes” and provide a familiar face at youth programs each week. Their high school mentor will get to know them, check in on them regularly, and answer any questions they have about the youth program.
