Of Many Colors (OMC) is comprised of men and women of different ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities. These gifted musicians come from across the Fort Worth region and include high school choral directors, teachers, university faculty, an attorney and others in the work force. Their individuality is as varied as the many colors of Joseph’s famous coat…thus the inspiration behind their name.
The origins of OMC date back to February 2007, when Jim Hodges was asked to produce a Lenten concert at University Christian Church. It was his vision to combine and blend voices of different ethnicity with new arrangements of old hymns and spirituals, contemporary and original pieces. Having produced in a studio environment for years, he believed that such a combination would produce joyous and colorful results. This collaborative effort resulted in an awe-inspiring sound, transcending the music and inspiring audiences still today.
