Holy Chaos: Creating Connections in Divisive Times

Led by Rev. Dr. Russ Peterman
Mondays, 6:30p, Aug 3–31
Zoom | Registration Required

Daily living - and loving -- in our fraught and deeply divided world can be disorienting, unpredictable, exhausting, and scary. How do we find peace in the midst of the chaotic spaces? Connection in the midst of division? Healing in the midst of suffering?

In Holy Chaos, interfaith leader, activist, and pastor Amanda Henderson reflects on the core principles of rooting down, embracing fear, engaging curiosity, showing up, accepting our brokenness, finding joy in each other, and letting go to chart a way forward with integrity and love.

At least one session, Amanda Henderson, a friend of UCC, will join us for our discussion!

Parent Conversation on "Raising White Kids" by Jennifer Harvey

July 5, 2020 | 2:00PM | Zoom | Register Here

Jamie and Addison will be hosting a conversation on the book "Raising White Kids," which is "for families, churches, educators, and communities who want to equip their children to be active and able participants in a society that is becoming one of the most racially diverse in the world while remaining full of racial tensions. For white people who are committed to equity and justice, living in a nation that remains racially unjust and deeply segregated creates unique conundrums."

Let's Talk About Racism

July 8 & July 15 | 7:00PM | Zoom |

Jamie and Addison will lead the Chi Rho and CYF youth in separate conversations about the history of racism in America, as well as recent events which have inspired a global response. All youth are encouraged to join in these discussions and are welcome to invite friends to attend.

June 17- July 15 via Zoom

College students and recent grads are invited to participate in a 5-week discussion of self-discovery through the Enneagram.

The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile

“The Enneagram is an ancient personality type system with an uncanny accuracy in describing how human beings are wired, both positively and negatively. 'The Road Back to You' allows you to peek inside each of the nine Enneagram types. Not only will you learn more about yourself, but you will also start to see the world through other people’s eyes, understanding how and why people think, feel, and act the way they do.”
